In addition, users can edit play scripts by deleting, rearranging, or altering dialogue, fostering collaboration as they share their adaptations with fellow cast members.

• READ: The app provides complete access to the full texts of all Shakespearean plays and sonnets without any need for unlocking or additional downloads. Users can easily start reading from Act 1 Scene 1 or select specific scenes with a few taps. A character list displays the word count for each role, enabling users to focus solely on their character’s lines with contextual cue prompts for enhanced understanding.

• MEMORIZE: Users begin with the entire text and can progressively hide sections of their lines until they feel proficient enough to perform without prompts. For instance, a line may appear initially in full, then gradually become obscured to facilitate memorization. Should a line prove elusive, tapping it reveals the text once more. Additionally, the app includes a selection of notable monologues, ideal for audition preparation. Users can curate a collection of favorites from characters, monologues, or sonnets for swift access.

• ADAPT: Recognizing that most performances may involve abridged versions of Shakespeare's originals, the app offers directors the flexibility to create custom adaptations seamlessly. With simple swipes, entire acts or lines can be deleted or rearranged. The editing process is non-destructive; changes are made in copies of the original texts, preserving the integrity of the original works.

• PUBLISH: For directors and dramaturges, there is an option to distribute personal adaptations to cast and audience members alike. An in-app purchase facilitates cloud uploading of scripts, allowing cast members to access scripts using a unique five-letter access code. The memorization and navigation features are applicable to these adaptations as well. Furthermore, any updates made to the script will automatically reflect in the copies accessed by subscribers.
